Self-glowing effects
ECLOON SR is a tempered safety glass with a special glass ceramic coating. In permanent activation the coating transforms through a UV-Light medium (black light) into visible light, which radiates a surface light intensity of approx. 70 cd/m².
This innovation in glass is predestined for individual accents. The effects of specific illuminated glass areas communicate with their surroundings. Movement of the UV-lamps e.g. elevator cars create a unique dynamic through increasing and reducing the brightness.
Excellent interior applications are wall claddings, ceilings and furniture.
Externally, elevator glazing or facade sections signal highlights and become eye-catchers with their message.
Subdued glazing areas during daylight can be timed to radiate during darkness hours, they are directive for communicative architecture and outgoing building owners.
ECLOON is available, depending on the type, as insulated glass, laminated glass and tempered safety glass.
Afterglow-effect
Afterglow effects which are only activated by the UV-part of daylight can be achieved using ECLOON NT.
During absolute darkness (interiors), daylight or artificial light is sufficient for activation of the afterglow effect visible to the human eye for up to 10 hours (visibility limit). This complies with the requirements of DIN 67510 for afterglow glass.
The swift reduction of light intensity is normally not noticeable in urban surroundings even at night.
