Surface Mirror with chrome coating

MIRASTAR is qualitative float glass - PLANILUX, covered with a mirror coating of pure chrome which is bedded on silicium nitrite. It is corrosion resistant, and not sensitive to steam and cleaning.

Mirrors are a favourite medium for room decoration. However, conventional mirrors are restricted in their use in areas of high humidity. In addition, there are certain applications which require the hightened breakage and impact resistance of a safety glass – normal mirrored glass is not temperable. MIRASTAR is available as SECURIT Fully Tempered and STADIP laminated safety glass.

For applications with safety requirements and design effects, MIRASTAR is an interesting solution. With a Light transmission of approx. 4 % it is not opaque. The coating appears mirror-like and with sufficient light-darkness difference is also transparent.

MIRASTAR can be used as a one-way mirror under particular light conditions. The side of the room which is to viewed has a mirror effect when the opposite side is darker so that the glass can be seen through.

A particular highlight is MIRASTAR DESIGN. Employing a special technique all areas which are not to be coated are covered. These remain transparent even after coating.
