BIOCLEAN is a clear Float glass with a transparent coating of photocatalytic and hydrophilic mineral material.

The transparent coating is integrated into the glass itself and ensures a high level of durability.

BIOCLEAN fulfills the requirements of the European Standard EN 1096, Class A, for the durability of coated building glass (coating on surface 1).

Application technical notes

Information for processing:

  • The glass must always have the coating to the outside.
  • The glass must be cleaned thoroughly when construction is complete.
  • In order to ensure long-term performance, we recommend that any wet and dry sealing products as well as all associated glazing materials should be those shown on the list from technical customer information [PDF].
  • Further important information as well as installation and maintenance notes can be obtained from the processor.

Information for the end-user:

  • The self-cleaning function is activated when the glass is subjected to sunlight for a few days.
  • BIOCLEAN is subject to soiling much less than conventional glass and therefore requires to be cleaned less often. It is, however, not a maintenance-free glass.
  • Clean the coated surface with tap water or de-mineralised water. On hard marks use warm soapy water or standard glass cleaner and a clean squeegee or a clean soft cloth.
  • Razor blades, cutters, glass scrapers or similar tools must not be used for any reason!
  • Do not use any cleaning agents with abrasives or water-repellent agents.
  • Further details can be found in our maintenance instructions
    (see document „Information for the end-user “).
