Information about safety glass
Safety glass
Austrian Standard ÖNORM B 3710 defines Safety glass: Glass unit, which
when broken offers a reduced danger of injury. Monolithic safety glass
(Fully Tempered) is differentiated to laminated safety glass.
STADIP and SECURIT are safety glass types in accordance
with ÖNORM B 3710 (and many international standards).
Wired glass is not safety glass
The Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Labour included in one of its
publications dated 5th March 2004 to the Occupational Safety and Health
Administration a clear statement that wired glass is not classified as a
safety glass unless it is part of a laminated glass.
