Insulated glass with integral blind – manually controllable

Light and Energy – manually controllable comfort, protects your living space from overheating and glare

ECKLITE SC PRIVAT integrates a manually operated louvre blind within the cavity providing efficient Solar and glare control. The blind and other integral parts are thereby permanently protected against weathering and are maintenance free.

The control of the functions is carried out via an endless cord ring, which allows the tilting of the louvres as well as lifting and lowering of the complete blind. The operation is easy and is facilitated by a speed-reducing gearbox.

The thermal insulation of Ug= 0,6 W/m².K (triple-glazed) to 1,2 W/m².K (double-glazed) fulfills contemporary requirements for energy saving glass.

Sustainable designs of residential buildings orient themselves toward the thermal-energy quality of the EU building guideline 2002/91/EG, which has been implemented in guideline 6 of the Austrian Institute for Building technology (OIB). Architecture must master the conflict between human desires for natural light and warmth but overcome the challenge of overheating.

Glass is predestined to use the thermal warmth of the sun as passive solar energy. This means that all East to West oriented glazing, even in winter, can achieve a positive energy balance through solar energy gain and thereby bring more energy into the building than warmth is lost.

In summer however, such rooms need to be protected from overheating and glare. To achieve an optimum solution without using air-conditioning, sun-exposed windows cannot do without a variable solar control system.

The OIB states in guideline 6 pt. 4.2, that even rooms in residential buildings should not exceed a maximum temperature (ÖNORM B 8110-3) of 27° C and that the potential necessary cooling load must be included in the energy balance disclosure statement.

ECKLITE SC PRIVAT possesses an excellent solar control (g-value up to 0,05) which can only otherwise be achieved using external shading devices.

ECKLITE SC PRIVAT is maintenance-free and fully functional even in storm conditions. Cleaning is the same as for conventional double-glazed units – the louvre blind is protected inside the cavity between the glass.

With ECKLITE SC PRIVAT you can regulate room comfort to your own demands according to the season and also contribute to reducing your energy footprint.
