5. Technical application notes
The characteristics of DLS MICRO LOUVRE and DLS COMBISOL predestine the product for sloped and roof glazing up to a maximum of 60° from the horizontal. DLS PRISMA is also suitable for vertical glazing.
The standard compositions have a dual-seal system whereby the primary seal is Polyisobutylene and the Secondary seal of Polysulfide (Thiokol). This edge seal system is to be protected from UV-rays with cover plates of a minimum depth of 17mm.
Particulars of glazing rebate sizing
The louvre inserts or prism plates have a transparent plastic profile around their perimeter as standard. If a normal rebate depth is used it is possible that the necessary system expansion joints create light cracks between the insert and spacer bar.
Glazing Guidelines
The glazing rebate should be executed in accordance with EN 18545. Larger rebates should be avoided as this could lead to excessive thermal load on the inner laminated sheet of glass.
Because each project is calculated and designed by us for its specific building orientation, slope and geographic location, each unit that is ordered is given an unique position and location on the roof.
This positioning is strictly necessary to ensure correct performance. The position of each unit must be carefully followed during installation.

General cleaning instructions
Accumulation of dirt can reduce the performance and value of such a complex light-directing product. As roof glazing is normally difficult to maintain, we recommend using BIOCLEAN [>] – Glass with easy-to-clean coating – for the outer sheet.
DLS MICRO LOUVRE has no special glazing guidelines.
Marking
In its installed state, each insulated unit is marked – orientation, customer position – readable and located on the plastic U-profile in the bottom right corner when viewed from outside.
In accordance with EN 14179 all fully tempered safety glass is visibly and permanently marked.
