Comfort glass for all seasons
The All-rounder combines thermal insulation (Ug 1.1 W/m².K) and optimum solar control (g-value 0,42) for residential applications with high light transmittance. It is recommended for use in all East to West-oriented window glazing.
An extremely thin, neutral coloured performance coating combines reflection of solar radiation as well as heat transfer from inside the building. Apart from reducing energy costs from heat loss to levels required by regulatory bodies, it also reduces the undesired overheating of rooms during summer months.
Summer thermal insulation
Guideline 6 (german version) [>] from the Austrian Institute for Building Technology (OIB) requires that a maximum room temperature of 27 °C is achieved – even in apartments. This is normally not possible without an extenal shading device. Occupants often complain about excessive room temperatures in the middle of summer. This is often due to shading devices not being used since the heat is already inside the room. Simulations have shown that effective solar control in an insulating glass unit can reduce the interior room temperature between 2 and 5 °C in comparison to conventional thermally insulating glass. With CLIMAPLUS RELAX it is even possible, depending on building design and orientation, to do away with additional solar control devices.
Of course, solar control coatings mean reduced solar gain in winter. In comparison to conventional thermal insulating units, a room with approximately 30 m² which has CLIMAPLUS RELAX glazing requires about € 12,- more for heating coats. However, when you otherwise consider the lack of need for air-conditioning during summer, the energy balance is much beter since cooling costs would run at about € 78.
The comfort and climate for the occupant in summer is significantly improved and achieves the expectations of a modern residence.
The noise reduction characteristics of CLIMAPLUS ACOUSTIC [>] or CLIMAPLUS SILENCE [>] achieve a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere even at high noise levels.
Safety glass for doors and low-level glazing protects from injury and falling. All CLIMAPLUS Insulating glass types can be combined with SECURIT [>] or
STADIP [>].
