A masterplan concept idea was the basis for the „Entry gate“ design for the drive from Buda over the Arpad Hid bridge into Pest.
Two 70m high-rises – the sharp-edged „Duna Tower“ and the curved „Europe Tower“ flank the six-lane main road.

The developers requirement was to create a continuous, energy-saving glass facade for the office levels of the Duna Tower and a very representative, multi-functional entrance lobby as the identifying characteristic with a high level of experience and the functions of distribution, restaurant and event space.

The office tower glazing – 15,900 m² in total - was conceived as an economical element facade with a covering skin. Solar control in the windows is efficiently achieved using CLIMAPLUS COOL-LITE SKN 154 which also provides a good level of daylighting with its relatively high light transmission.

For the extreme acoustic requirement of 42 dB on the 5,800 m² street-facing facades, the solar control glass CLIMAPLUS SILENCE was used.

EMALIT-H with custom colour BF747-WW was chosen for the cladding of the 8,000 m² of parapet.

The entrance lobby sets its accent by means of an all-glass appearance, underlined by the green hue of the chosen glass. This intentionally separates itself from the grey-blue tones of the adjacent office facades. The Structural Glazing System VARIO - used with PARSOL green glass and SUNEX Low-E coating - achieves this design idea. The filigree support structure uses suspended glass fins and reduces the visual impact of the steel structure. The expanse of the space with its length of 43 m and height of15.5 m creates a feeling of luxury and freedom which is intensified by the intricate details in combination with high-value materials.

The suspended aluminium „Danube Wave“ is integrated using special lighting effects. Dynamic colour mixes create a myriad of atmospheres in the space. Technology, function and aesthetics are enriched with a single deciding factor: EMOTION.
