The doubling of an existing building of the administration headquarters of the German water industry group realizes intelligent synergies between energy balance, thermal and acoustic comfort.

The transparency of the glazed envelope provides bright, naturally-lit work spaces. The facade elements supplied by ECKELT GLAS comprise storey-height insulated glass units with electronically controlled, highly-reflective aluminium louvers which are integrated into the cavity. The solar-controlling louvers in the cavity allow control of light direction – thereby dramatically reducing the energy load of the building.
