Big and brassy – this shopping centre as a stand-alone building in the Wels/Linz area has positioned itself in pole position in one of the richest consumer areas in Europe. The intention is to provide the shopper with a max.imum shopping experience and therefore employed the retail-specialists of ATP Architects with the design and architcetural concept as the result of a competition.

The shiny silver roof skin made of aluminium strips moves in a soft curve to the North facade and acts as a second envelope tapering down to the suspended silver ceiling panels of the open parking garage. The volume-closing glass façade is neatly slotted into this space which is in turn formed from the cubic retail zones. One particular highlight is the so-called Peanut-Facade which is over 120 meters long and colourfully backlit with LEDs at night providing quite the eye-catcher. This facade is back-ventilated and uses about 1,400 m² of translucent patterned glass SECURIT MASTER-POINT.

The expansive interiors are flooded with daylight through an 800 m² glass roof with SUNEX 68/34 safety glass as well as through the 2,400 m² facade of SUNEX green 61/40 and 68/34.

The backlighting of the double-skin facade with coloured LEDs gives the max.center an almost magical appearance. The colour of the facade changes every minute and pulses in all tones of the rainbow.
