Music Centre, Gateshead

The shell-shaped form contains three large auditoria, the grandest of which accommodates up to 1.650 people. A second hall for 400 people is designed for highest flexibility with the third hall being the centre for rehearsal and the music school itself.
The project was of international interest even during its 10 year planning phase, where intense discussions with audiences and musicians needed to be considered.
