Creating the concept of a streetscape in one of the most expensive building zones of the world, the inner city of London, became a rare and particular challenge. The architects decided against a tower, in order to give the neighbouring buildings sufficient space to “breathe“. One significant visual impact is provided by the Simon Patterson "public art" exhibition of a coloured backlit moonscape using the special product STADIP ARTE supplied by ECKELT.
The large entrance hall for the offices of developer British Land also carried the name "Crystal Room". A multitude of vertical glass fins provides the Crystal effect – using triple laminated glass with the middle sheet shattered.
